Diane Silver (US)

Hailing from Asheville, North Carolina, Diane Silver is among the top-tier of contra callers in the U.S. Diane has been a die-hard contra dancer, swing dancer, and kitchen flat-footer for over 20 years. With a penchant for hot modern contras and everyone-active squares, she loves sharing high-energy dancing that allows everyone to “play” with the band. Highly acclaimed for her clear, efficient teaching and calling, creative medleys, great positive energy, and spirit of community building, Diane provides a sizzling evening of dance in a friendly, welcoming tone. Her workshops are known for clear, kind teaching peppered with light humor.

Diane danced for several years with the Cincinnati Lindy Circle, a performance swing dance troupe, and is a "next generation" member of the renowned Green Grass Cloggers. She has called dances and led workshops in contra, squares, clogging, swing, and other couples dance forms at hundreds of evenings, festivals, and workshops across North America and the U.K. You may remember her from her 2019 appearances at Sidmouth and Whitby, and periodic weeks at Halsway Manor.
